The law firm began in 1970 as a criminal defense trial office in Gainesville, Florida. In 1971, a second office concentrating on appeals opened in Tallahassee. The success of the practice and location led to a broader range of cases in white collar crimes, commercial, health care, civil, and appellate areas. The firm is physically located in uptown Tallahassee within two blocks of the Supreme Court of Florida, the First District Court of Appeal, the United States District Court, the local sitting Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals Judge, and the local state and county courts.
